Hi Guys,

Firstly I apologise if this is in the wrong section, I'm a newbie to a EL Fairmont ghia and I was wondering if you guys have ever had this issue.

The issue I'm having is the Steering on the car is very light and some what scary at high speed. From what Ive been reading up the EL Fairmont ghia has an adaptive speed solenoid on the steering rack and that gets its speed signal from the auto trans. Here's where it gets interesting, this car is a manual!!!

I believe that since it isn't getting a signal from the gearbox(since it is a manual) it does not have the correct signal/speed signal going into the steering solenoid and hence the steering feels light.

My question is has anyone been able to bypass this or get past this and get the signal to the steering solenoid so that it can do its job?

Please let me know
