If I was to put a AU XR6 6 gauge cluster into my AU2 Forte with the 4 gauge cluster is it just a straight plug and play swap? (after changing the oil switch to a sender of course)
And also, I was told that because my AU has front power windows, that the plugs for rear power are inside the B pillar. so all I'd have to do is get rear regs, trims and door harnesses, and the main switch block. And it'd be all plug and play. Is this correct? Thanks in advance.

I will answer this back to front. The plugs for the rear pwr windows are NOT there at all and you will have to change the driver's door harness(the plugs are different), the MAIN harness from the front to the back and both rear door ones.
As to your dash, you will need to make sure that the Instrument cluster is from an AUII/III and you will need the harness to make it work properly. As to the sender, the AUII/III used the oil pressure switch for the oil gauge unlike the AUI. |

also with the pwr windows - if you 'only' have the fronts, you need ta change the master plug coz the terminals on the 2 window [large lugs] ARE differant to the 4 window setup [small lugs on switches]

god AUs are gay. Would be easier if it was E series.
So when you say I need the loom for the cluster, do you mean the whole dash loom?

If you have a GLi/Futura E series then you will have the same problem with the rear windows. Forte is the bottom end, you are lucky Ford fitted front power windows in the base model. |

The wiring that plugs into the back of the instrument cluster comes separately from the main harness and YES, you will need that along with the AU II/III XR Cluster. BTW, AU's are not gay or whatever you think is a put down, they are good cars and have refinements that the E series didn't have, the MAIN thing they have is the ability to add HUGE front and rear brakes that you COULDN'T do with an E series without throwing heaps of $$$ at it. |

so i'll need just the patch harness? OR the whole dash loom?
What brakes will fit behind TE50 17" wheels that I can easily upgrade to?

Up grade to the AU Series II/III twin pod brakes or you can even use the BA/BF 322mm setup. You will need AUII/III Uprights as well as AU II/III Swaybar.

Already has the twin spot brakes Have you thought the reason people have given you so much s**t everywhere over the years is not because they are jelly or butthurt as you like to put it , but the fact that you are a deadest f**k? Your the same everywhere. To be asking for help and then when someone gives you some advice to start your reply with "Did you read?" just gets every C*** on the wrong foot. You can make the same statement without being a C**k you know.

{USERNAME} wrote: Did you read? It's a AU2. Already has the twin spot brakes I mixed yours up with another thread, who has an AU1. You can still use the BA/BF brakes. But after what you had to say, for all I care, stick AUI single pots in it. |
