I have a 1997 EL Futura, replaced a head gasket and the steering wheel, put in a Fairmont cluster, now as soon as I hook my battery up the headlights come on, I have replaced all relays that I can find, even disconnected the light switch, any ideas people

Hi,

Low beams are on not highs and no parkers?

There isn't much to the system... Pulling the relay out (beside the battery) turns them off?

If so then it is in the control circuit for the lights...

For the relay to turn on then it needs to be earthed through the dipper switch and then the headlight switch... So either your combo switch is stuck on flash (pass) bringing them on, it's on normal low position and your headlight switch is earthing out (which you reckon you've disconnected and not worked) or you've pinch a wire doing something and shorted to the body somewhere...

Cheers,
Tim

Same deal...

Either the pass switch in the combo switch has shorted out on the high beam section... It is pushed forward onto high beams and the headlight switch is shorting out... Or you've pinched a wire...

Pulling the high beam relay next to the battery turns them off?

Cheers,
Tim
