1989 DA LTD 3speed
Starter wont respond when turning key nothing happens, silence. With key turned on 'start' the doors
on the dashboard flicker and dance open and closed (interesting). Have since got a new battery but when old battery was flat went to jump start when the key was accidentally on 'On' so it cracked and sparked inside engine bay. Still started it but when turned off and try back on it wouldn't respond (silence). Pretty sure this is what has killed it and now it wont jump start at all...
When trying to jump the solenoid the starter spins but doesn't crank the engine.
I've only tried replacing the ignition switch and starter relay fuse looking for suggestions.......

Go and buy a multi meter and a workshop manual.

It will beat forum guessing any day of the week.
