I have a NL V8 Loom I am installing into my ute (with dash etc), and some of the loom was cut.

Can anyone identify these 4 wires please? They are located near the passenger side relay box, behind LH Headlight

The other bit you can see cut off is the thermo wiring (I have that bit, ready to solder back together).

If anyone can help that would be great! Cheers

Nope. Headlight perhaps? - MAF is on the Ignition harness (not the Engine one) and comes over from the engine around where the auto TPS plug is.

Hi Nigel,

Thank you for your help so far.

Its on the LHS, but it may be the parker lights? From memory they are brown. I just thought if someone had a fairlane in their driveway they could have a quick look next to the LHS fuse/relay box and let us know.

I have a max elerys manual...waste of paper its printed on.

It may well be a relay, as its got the 4 wires... Its amazing that this loom is completely different to the XH XR one

The LTD and Fairlanes had the Front clearance lamp. I believe they were on with parkers, but flash with indicators (hence the relay there). That makes the most sense to me.

if you have the indicators tied off already, and the headlamps thats what it will be

OK, no worries. So as long as I've got what 'I need' to make my XR lights work, I can pretty much not worry about them?

I guess it will be much clearer once I've run the loom, rather than looking at a bunch of cable on the lawn

Thats most of the answer.

Just remember - the XR Wiring is different to the Std Falcon Wiring. There is a jumper in the wiring (Snap might know where it is) that makes sure the low beam relay stays on when high beam is selected. Ive always just taken a look at the wiring and fixed it. From memory - I modify the low beam relay so its driven from the Lights on wire, not the Low beam wire from the stalk. In fact, thats quite possibly the modification thats done - jumper at the stalk from the Lights "on" switch to the low beam circuit.

Cheers

You'll need a shorting link on the high beam relay - the low beams will go out when high beam is selected.
The gregory's diagrams show it well.

It becomes an issue going between high and low series looms. So for example, upgrading from std falcon to XR lights is no issue.

The factory wiring diagrams for EF/EL/NL are available on another forum.

If you look at the image I posted, I believe the colours in your first post match the ones in the diagram. You'll have one on each side (although the one on the drivers side may not be cut off)
