This is a pic of the back of my headlight cover. Tidied up more a bit since that photo but you get a rough idea.

To be fair, AU's pretty much have 2 suns on the front of them. They're so damn bright.

HIDs work very well. Why wlse would modern cars be using them?

OK thanks, I have red the HID retrofit, but i dont have money or time to do it. So i will just install and aim down, and do i have to sand my lense down?

Also thanks to everyone to has helped me here :D


OFF SUBJECT, my Ford EL power steering pump is making a bearing grinding noise, Does anyone know if thats the bear or the actually pump making noise. So do i replace it with a new one or try to replace the bearing?

just letting all know hids in low beam are illegal in vic if you need better lights for country driving upgrade your hi beam to hid i fitted 55 wat hid to high beam in my au and there great

mine failed rwc with hids as low beam.

Try reading some ADRs and you'll see.
To summarise; any light source over 2000 lumens must have automatic leveling and headlight washers.

In short, if your car didn't have them the day it rolled out of the factory, then you can't legally run them.

who bothers reading about the ADR's :roll:

is that automatic leveling for the car or lights? ... washers easy :roll:

i have to actually check, but i was told its not headlight washers, its actually self cleaning bulbs that you need

nope. apparently there is a chemical on some hid globes which cleans itself. but as i said, i have to actually look into myself. but the bloke who told me is pretty switched on about adrs etc
