Hi I just noticed I've got LEDs under my front n back bumper, I just wanna know if they still work . They have black n red wires on them can I just hook them up to the battery to test em?

Yep pretty easy. Black wire to negative and red to positive. LED's are sensitive to + - current and will only work one way.

Ok I just tried both the front led n the rear only hooking up the wires straight to the battery. Is this right or do I need a switch or something? Neither seem to be workin

Yep you just need to connect the wires as described above to a 12V battery, like your car battery and they should light up. No need for a switch or anything else.
I wouldn't be too disappointed if they don't work as you can get LED lights pretty cheap if you wish to wire up a new set yourself. |

Cool cheers mate I'm goin to have to get a set now I was anticipatinge the lights to work n its nearly dark atm to woulda looked cool. When I hooked up the front to battery nothing happened but when I'd hooked up the rear there was little sparts like it was workin. Is it possible the rear may still work?

I'd say if you've plugged them in and it didn't work or only parts worked then there's a small possibility with a lot of fiddling around you could get them working but it really wouldn't be worth all the effort. You can get meter lengths for only a few dollars. I think I got 3m for $1.99 off eBay and used them in my boot. They're water resistant too so would suit outdoor use.
Out of curiosity what kind of car do you have? |

Very nice and clean engine bay! You should be very happy with it, very tidy. A tip a learnt a while ago, if you want the letters and numbers on the rocker cover to be silver again, you can get a fine file and gently file over the top of them to expose the metal underneath. Just something I thought was cool.

Start a new thread the same was you asked this question in 'The Garage' section: the-garage-f53/
Then name it something like " 123esproc's Au Build " or anything you like really so people know what it is, and then post what car you have and any modifications you've done to it, and then continue to update the thread as you do more things, explaining what you've done with pictures too. You can also ask questions on how to do something in terms of your car. After a while you'll tend to get a bunch of people who regularly check on your thread to see how you're going with your car. It's pretty fun, and a good way of documenting your progress on your car. |
