What are the brightest legal bulbs I can safely put in my AU?
I don't want to go the HID way but I do want better vision.

Try using the narva +50 or Philips extreme vision globes. More expensive but legal.

Thank you Kermit.
I'm going to buy the Philips Crystal Vision. Same wattage and I don't need to upgrade any electrics. Should give me some improvement.

Dont increase the wattage. They get hotter which means the plastic lense on your light will eventually go s**t and the globe connector and wiring have a chance of melting.

I put+50 in the low beam of my el and it made a great difference. I put +20 in my low beam on the ba and found no difference.

Thanks so much for all this feedback it is much appreciated. And Kermit I will stay with the factory wattage.
Bry, what's an underdrive pulley?

The b series 6 over drives the power steering/water pump/ air conditioning /alternator too much from the factory which robs horsepower. So a 20% under drive balancer can be fitted which gives back about 8-10hp at the wheels. And also doesn't wear out the engines accessories as quick due to the 20% loss in rpm on them

Wow. Thanks.
I think I'll keep that option in reserve right now..... Some of the performance mods here are mind blowing to some of us older generation...

Hi,
It wont be cheap, but XR type lights will help. The old type of lights were glass with a metal reflector, and could take bigger globes. The plastic lights made now go dull and lose output over time. http://www.twinlight.com.au/ Theses are another option, similar to XR lights. If you put in heavier wiring and Relays to suit, you can also run bigger globes safely.
