G'day thrillseekers: had cause to change the neutral switch on the gearbox today ( '89 EL I6)
The thing was so full of crap, it was a wonder the bloody thing still worked!!! It was the original switch, so was 17 years old!!!!!!! It came off in about 6 pieces, and the shaft needed cleaning before the new switch could be put on. It was interesting, however, that the seal didn't need replacing. (Testament to annual oil changes??!!) Now the reversing lights work, and it starts straight away when the key is turned.............. |

Maybe 98?.... By the way, do you happen to know what "DNA" stands for? .....National Dixlecsicks Association.........chick, chick,..boom (for the Dave Gray fans out there) Any who, lol, I was crawling under my ED constantly, thinking I had a intermitttttttent fault in my parking pawl switch, lol, hitting it a lot, jiggling it a bit ect until finally it would start, halaluhya, turns out I eventually found out it was what I suspect was a cold solder joint in my BCM, imagine my ammusement... when I cracked a fitt and kneed my dash with my left leg and then the car started immediatly that time and every other I would hit it there when it was giving me greif ! Wish I had that bit of knowledge from others experience not my sore left knee... Anyway there is one for the old guys losin the plot file!,, Good luck decyfering that codwallop! PS Keep us imformed of how u get on as it may help others! Over |
