Hey first timer here, i have a 97 XH ute that is currently not going due to no spark. I have replaced coil and distributer with brand new ones. leads look in good condition. problem started last week when i got home from a 2hr drive. i parked it then went to start it later that night and it would crank fine but wouldnt fire. so i left it over night and it fired first go next day(yippeee). so i took it for a drive around the block, all seemed good. then i stopped it again and hasnt moved since. i have also checked the crt fuse and is sweet. Any ideas would b greatly appreciated as it has really got me buggered as to what the problem might b. :?
cheers

Check the interior light fuse.

Is it a new dizzy, or just new-to-you from a wrecker?

Is the fuel pump working?

Good luck.
8-)

The TFI module is not part of the distributor. Unless you asked for it you probably wouldn't have got it.

You can't really service a TFI so it's one of those things that just has to be replaced sometimes, when I had no spark in my XH (after washing the engine bay) it was the TFI. Same thing, it started, I moved it 5m into the garage and it wouldn't start again.

the tfi is screwed to the side of the dizzy... all new genuine or aftermarket dizzy's come with the tfi attached...

can you hear the fuel pump prime??
if not check all the main fuse near the battery and check the ecu relay..
no ecu power= no spark and no fuel pump,.....

i have replaced the main fuse just in case. but it cuts power to everything so that wasnt the problem. dizzy came with new tfi (as i first thought). i am thiking it is something to do with the ecu.
where will i find the ecu relay? wasnt sure that it had one. will the ecu affect the problem of no spark?

cheers for response.

slighty off topic,
when i got my ute serviced at my mechanic i use now, i was talking to him about how your hands need to be tiny to get the dizzy and replace leads, he eventually was talking about getting the dizzy into limp mode to adjust the timing..

is he telling the truth or making some stories up?

thanks for any help.
