Update,

Went to wreckers to find if there were any intact steering wheels without wires cut...wishful thinking on my part.

Managed to locate couple of AUII vehicles, one was same year as mine, the other a year later.

Wires have been cut from the switches. Without causing hiccups, can wires be joined and soldered for those switches?

Unfortunately the steering wheel does need to come off to get access to the wires that run between the plastic backing and the metal part of the steering wheel

Cheers

Yes you can resolder the wires together.

SWC,

Thanks for the links on the switches, few days ago I could not find any via eBay.

update,

Ended up soldering the wires from an identical unit, plastic switch housing on mine was knackered. After reassembling, when tightening the plastic switch housing for the radio wires, it decided to crack.

Bloody brittle plastic. I wonder why Ford could not have used metal alloy with insulators instead of plastic.

Steering wheel repositioning was very simple, I was expecting splines to spline, with having a square shaft locator it was too easy.

All going good now.

Thanks to everyone who provided advice.

Cheers
