Managed to locate couple of AUII vehicles, one was same year as mine, the other a year later. Wires have been cut from the switches. Without causing hiccups, can wires be joined and soldered for those switches? update,
Ended up soldering the wires from an identical unit, plastic switch housing on mine was knackered. After reassembling, when tightening the plastic switch housing for the radio wires, it decided to crack. Bloody brittle plastic. I wonder why Ford could not have used metal alloy with insulators instead of plastic. Steering wheel repositioning was very simple, I was expecting splines to spline, with having a square shaft locator it was too easy. All going good now. Thanks to everyone who provided advice.
