Hey guys, the tailgate on my ef gli wagon doesn't lock when I lock the car with the remote, and I have to lock it with the key. Is this right or not? I have done a search on the forum here but don't come up with anything helpfull. If this is correct is there anyway I can make this happen? I also had to buy a new remote a while ago but could only get a sedan one. Can I program the boot button to unlock the tailgate only and not the doors? I usually have a lot of money's worth of gear in the back so locking it is essential and the ability to lock it with the rest of the car via the remote would be awesome.

The central locking actuator in the tailgate is FUBAR. You'll need a new one
And no, you cannot set the tailgate to unlock independently without stuffing about with the Smartlock/BCM.

Is the actuator the same as the door ones? I can only find front door ones on eBay and don't really want to pay the stupid price ford will most likely charge.

Or even just disconnect your sencer and see if it will lock if so then you need a new one if not it's not the problem
Because if it's broken the hole car shouldn't lock and it would toot to say that it's broken\ a doors open ??

Doors lock fine with the remote, but the tailgate stays unlocked. I then have to lock it manually.

Mine won't beep if the tailgate is open and the other doors will still lock as normal, not sure if it's how it's supposed to be.
