So if you've seen my Garage post ({DESCRIPTION}) you'll know this is an ex-cop car... and it's got this switch on the centre console which is basically a kill-switch for the interior lighting. Also, the normal interior dimmer switch on the dash is absent.
Attachment: When I first got more-than-slightly-annoyed with it, I took it round to the local Auto-sparky who put his hands in the air and wouldn't touch it. According to him, the switch has a Ford part number on it (not that that means anything), but for him to investigate and rewire it wouldn't be worth my cash... so I've sat and dealt with it for a couple of years. Since I'm doing a custom interior, it's the perfect time to rip the sucker out and fix the original swtiching... but before I do, I'd love to hear from anyone else who's dealt with this "engineering" before.

mine was cut at the plug for the bcm, blue wire.just soldered back together, yours will be spliced with 2 cables,in -switch-out.just track it back to l\h side of the steering wheel.they have the low series bcm,so you could change it and light switch.you may find some more cuts for the suff they had fitted.

Sweet, Hans... Thank you.
I'll check that out while I'm pulling the interior apart this week to clean and wash.
