Mines an EL 5 speed on LPG.
I've never been able to get it above 14 / 100km, it averages 10-11/100km with combined city/country driving. Average of 500-550km to 60 litres of LPG. I used to only get 350-400km which was crap and then I bothered to check what the o2 sensor was telling the ECU. It was completely rich, spitting raw LPG out the exhaust. I traced it to the mixer feeding too much fuel, altered the spring in the mixer and bobs your auntie, its fixed. At idle you wont get anything, you need to check what the o2 sensor is doing while the car is under partial to medium load above 1500rpm. If you want to check it get a FET input analog multimeter, should be able to get one for next to nothing secondhand. Put it on the 1v scale, ground probe on the body and tap the positive probe into the o2 sensor signal. If its always at 1v, your engine is running rich. If its swinging once/twice per second between 0-1v then all is most likely good with mixtures, your fuel system and air metering system. You may have an auto fault, dragging brakes or some other issues. |

You dont need to bleed the fords. Thats a stupid holden thing.
What you do on a ford is leave the overflow bottle cap off and fill it to max. Then go turn your heater on the hottest it can go and run the car to running temp. Then check the overflow bottle. It should have dropped or atleast when you filled it, it should have dropped. Thats the air coming out the system.

The small hose from the top thermostat housing is actually a bleed hose, same with the small one coming out of the top of the radiator. These hoses allow any trapped air to bleed back to the header tank.

Mine sit on "A" or "L" in the temp guage witch i know is a bit low. It is a genuine ford thermostat but there is alot of corrosion around it could that also affect it not getting warm enough and thus bad fuel economy?

Im sure than when they come from factory it would be on M but as long as its above the bottom of the bracket it should be fine.
