I think you can only use the Dash diagnostic modes on EF-BA Falcons.

A little off topic strictly speaking from the discussion about trip computer fuel readings - but relevant with regard to bowsers:
I used to fill up always at a certain servo as my car was on novated lease and a fuel card came with the deal (so my fuel was paid for out of gross salary = big saving) - anyway, when the lease finished I was back to buying fuel for cash so ended up going to different servos. Lo and behold, my fuel tank that I had really started to believe must have been about 74 litre capacity rather than the advertised 68 (I used to always refuel when the warn light came on) suddenly from any other servo would only take about 64 or 65 litres when the warning light had come on... Did I dob the first place into Fair Trading? - damned right! - did anything happen?? - f**k NO!! - fuelled up from there a year later on warning light and suddenly my car took over 70 litres again.

Ive been to many service stations and never filled my tank about 72litres, and thats when I know Ive been driving on fumes.
Currently I'm sure my fuel gauge is badly wrong. The car and trip computer says one thing, but then when I fill it up, the litres I put in dont match. I do have an ex-cop cluster, maybe it has something to do with that. Maybe cop cars have a larger tank and the gauge is calibrated accordingly. My fuel readings have been out of wack since I put this cluster in, so either its faulty or something is different. I think the only way to end speculation about the absolute full tank capacity of an EF/EL tank is to buy one from a wreckers and fill it till it cant be filled no more. Who from Melbourne would like to assist in a scientific experiment? I know i'd be interested in seeing the absolute full capacity, filler neck and all. |

Well I went to re-fuel the other day. I put it in Dash Diag mode and it said I had 20 Litres( the needle was just on the last quarter of the Fuel guage ) left then I filled it up, and the Bowser said I had put in a total of 49.11 litres at the second click So theoretically and more practically I have a 69.11 litre Fuel tank. But that is all entirely based on the diag saying a true 20litres left in the tank to begin with abviously. Anyway I get in the car and its saying 74 litres on the Dash-Diag again. So the dash-diag must be out!!
