Has anyone put 5.0 EFI system complete onto a 351..or larger maybe a stroker with success?
Apart form the difference of inlet manifold & injector size are there any other issues that I should think about or need to know ?

There are some variables in the EEC which should be changed ie CID so that it can calculate load correcly, however its a pretty straight forward thing as they had 351EFI stuff running in the states through out the 90's

If you need a 351 lower intake i have one. 315 EFI RPM lower. Was going to put it on my stroker, but am going with the Trickflow Box R now.

Thanks TerroristGHIA, I'll keep that in mind. I'm doing the research from my project PCV ( personally constructed vehicle in rego speak) and am looking at my engine options. It will have to pass emissions test I think. I really want to a 351 STROKED TO 427 to go in the Cobra. Maybe that'll happen after rego, but to compliant I don't think it'll pass. I might be able to get an efi 351 passed though, hence the question

N/A, but it has alloy heads custom headers and roller cam. 428 hp with a conservative tune. I would never go back to carbs.
I will open a can of worms here. A carby is easy to get power out of but for drivability you cannot beat the EFI. |

True, if carby's didnt make as much power, why is the drag scene not dominated by EFI. its mostly mech FI or carb.

Drag is not dominated by EFI as the rules do not allow for EFI. Mechanical yes, but not EFI

more worms for the drag racers !!! errr, i know some who think a good C4 is about as good as it gets..........however I'd take the ZF everytime.
had a real interesting chat with a drag guy today and suggested that if the guys from F1 were to have a go at it you'd see 2 sec 1/4's in less than 12 months ! He couldn't see it. But when I pointed out that the Big blocks would start turning to 18000 RPM he thought that those revs are impossible etc except for maybe a 2 stroke, and wouldn't believe that the current cars are limited to 19000!

bit of a difference in a big block hemi and a F1 motor, a BB hemi spinning 8k is pretty astounding.
Brett, care to elaborate on the EFI stuff, as some of the sports compact class runs EFI, and the Super Street & Super Sedans can run EFI as far as I know. Methanol uses s**t of fuel, our M/D uses about 12ltrs and the SC/O about 20 on the burnout and the run, so to get EFI injectors would have to be huge, and basically re-inventing the wheel as far as R&D is concerned.

Super sedan, super street and sport compact as well as the DYO Streetfighter classes are it for EFI. Fuelers/ and doorslammers are not allowed to run EFI. Sheesh i remeber the stink when Sainty first ran quad cams in Fuel, the banned it and he now runs in alcohol. If you remmebr back when there was an RB30 300ZX in the low 8's/ high 7's it ran mechanical injection due to the rules. ANDRA is changing but it has taken a long time. You should see the rules in relation to NOS. Again it all depends on how fast you want to go, and the fact that there needs to be some parody between classes etc.
