Ican get a J3 chip to overide the smartlock .the issue is the VSS signal I believe it has to be powered from the gauge pack . is this true?

I am doing the same conversion with an NC fairlane driveline into my 1966 Coupe. You will probably find that it is a BTR Aussie made transmission however the other blokes doing the conversion used this VSS and the speedo cable they sell to run both your original speedo and the trans computer so it will run all the gears.
