> Hi I have a 65 mustang I have fitted 5.0L V8 efi with AOD out of eb falcon I have been trying to work through problem with auto going into limp mode only 3rd gear. first i thought it was the auto module so i tried another auto module I have tracked through all the wiring nothing wrong ECU is ok .I have now removed the EB harness& ECU& auto module I have fitted EF/EL fairlane harness,ECU auto module smartlock module BCM,gauge pack& ignition barell . I now have all 4 gears how do I now delet unessesary items from the harness& the BCM ? Ican get a J3 chip to overide the smartlock .the issue is the VSS signal I believe it has to be powered from the gauge pack . is this true?
> when I unplug the gauge pack it goes into limp mode . is ther a bypass ?

I am doing the same conversion with an NC fairlane driveline into my 1966 Coupe. You will probably find that it is a BTR Aussie made transmission however the other blokes doing the conversion used this VSS and the speedo cable they sell to run both your original speedo and the trans computer so it will run all the gears.

If the 4 speed auto is out of a falcon, it is a BTR.
