Have had an EFII Futura for about two years now, and have had a problem with air bag fuse tripping, had it reset twice, Air bag comp replaced, but still have problems, along with car not wanting to start unless I flick head lights on and off, starting to piss me off, as auto electricians charge like a wounded bull for a reset, anyone know how to reset ECU? never had this problem with my other previous fords

My EB had a problem like that - The fault was the relay in the BEM that is responsible for turning on the relay under the bonnet for the starter.

If this turns out to be your problem, an easy fix is to wire the starter wire on the barrel directly to the starter relay under the bonnet (relay coil positive).

You will need to check if this bonnet relay is missing its positive or negative at the relay's coil as well. If positive is missing, this should fix it. If its negative, your inhibitor switch circuit is a likely cause.

Another important thing to check first is if the smartlock light is flashing at all? If it isn't (and assuming the light is connected and working!) your fault could be the BEM relay, which is a known problem in E series.
