Ive read before that I should relocate the air temp sensor on the intake. Any idea where best relocated to.

Also would I benefit in any way by locating where spraying the NOS onto it.

Thanx

I made up a bung where the dog turd used to connect with the intake tract. That bung now houses the air intake sensor. I only did this as the AU explorer lower inlet doesn't have a hole for the sensor.

Do have to have a ACT sensor? Or can the car function without it?

It can function without it but wont run efficiently. ECU uses air temp sensor to calculate intake air density. (Colder air = denser, more O2 hotter = less dense, less O2). I reckon best place is in the lower intake like the HO. AU's have em in the intake pipe and apparently have a compensation factor to accomodate any air charge temp change between the sensor and the intake manifold. My 347 has it mounted in the intake pipe next to the TB. Need to fix it cos sometimes it falls out and sits on top of the exhaust, then I wonder why performance goes up the s**t. ECU thinks intake air temp is about 300 - 400 degrees! lol

I have an explore manifold on a EL. So would it be worth making a spot on the lower manifold to mount it?

I relocated mine to the intake pipe and the car performs a LOT better in hot conditions. The sensor doesn't appear to be affected by heat soak from the manifold, so the ECU gets a more accurate reading.

I might be wrong, but it definitely reduced the hot temp power loss that seems to affect the Windsors.
