So when I'm filling up my EL (68L) the pump cuts out often. Sometimes if i hold the trigger slightly I can get 20+ L in before it cuts off again.

The guy who sold me it said it was a b**ch to fill up due to the anti-siphon valve inside. Is this true? If so is there some method to filling up that I'm not aware of?

i'm not sure about anti-siphon valve. you could try pulling the nozzle slightly out of the tank (still in the tank filling it with petrol but not all the way in) and see if that makes a difference.

Yeah I've tried holding the nozzle out a little and slowly letting the fuel in, it cuts off pretty soon after though.

At first its not bad its just after I put about 30-40L in then it starts cutting the fuel almost instantly.

Same with my EF, can only dribble it in, anywhere past 1/4 squeeze and it stops, I have tried every angle and position with it (must have looked like a right loon) and it makes no difference.

I get the s**t up most times and only end up putting in 30L at a time

Fuel cell in the boot time...

E-series dont have anti-syphon valves. Just goes straight through to the tank.

FG's were the first models with anti-syphon, because they first off didn't have locking fuel doors.

But there is a vent line from the tank to the top of the filler neck that may be blocked or crushed. Only way is to take out the tank, which is really easy on an e-series. 2 hoses, 1 electrical connector and 2 bolts and tank is free.

EL tanks a piss easy to fill. In 10 years of owning EL's, never once did I have to dribble feed fuel into a tank. Full pressure until the nozzle clicked.
