Gday, as the title states im looking to borrow a wideband pack (preferrably the same as the one on the tiperformance website).
Just looking to fix my tune but without one of these its like stabbing in the dark. Im in sydney and would pay for some time with a wideband pack just to grab my afr,rpm, and map for my tune. Let me know if you can help out Cheers Sam

Its probably worth buying one, that way you can monitor your afrs and will be able to pick up any issues before they cause the motor to pop

Yeah krisis thats what i was thinking. Just cant afford it at the moment and need to change my tune as its running way too rich.
It would be handy running an afr gauge so i can really see whats going on. Cheers Sam

Troy, that was the plan, but i have since read up a lot on tuning of the j3 i was gonna tune it myself before taking it onto the rollers and letting the boys do their magic. How much do you reckon itd cost for them to retune my j3?
Also troy, where is v&e rigoli?

ok fair enough, i ment put it on the dyno just to check the afr..
but if your interested in self tuning a wideband set up is needed.. depending on who is tuning it? it could cost from $350 to $1000. v&e rigoli is on victoria st wetherill park. i went with v&e rigoli because he is a ems dealer and tunes ems ecu's on a daily basis, not to mention he has a good reputation for tuning and building some damn fast cars ...lol |

Yeah cool cool.
I was going to take it to castle hill exhaust because i was having a chat to the guys there and he said he can tune anything. He told me between $250-450 for the tune and runs and stuff as he thought it wasnt going to take very long. Might need to think about it a bit more... Cheers Sam

the standard ford E7TF 9F472 DA oxygen sensor is actually pretty useful as a standalone sensor when still used with the heater & a AFR guage, just mounted further down the exhaust to reduce the temp a bit will also make the reading a little more accurate, wide band sensors aren't as accurate as people are led to believe. of course they still are the end point with tuning... but a setup as mentioned above is quite useful. There is a little more to it but it does provide cheaper means of full time monitoring of afrs.

i bought an LC-1 wideband kit and hooked it up to a autometer narrowband gauge.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Air-Fuel-Meter-I ... 230a4a174a cheap and easy to install and is programmable via a laptop (although you need the PITA usb->serial adapter), has two outputs so you can program one to be narrowband signal and the other to be wideband. |
