got my unit today thanks muzza! Great unit and manual!

KOEO
111 omg

KOER
i am having problems... it keeps whinging that 528 i.e. i don't blip the throttle.
If i do the throttle first before the steering wheel it whinges i didn't do the wheel.

I am obviously f^$king something up.

1. I start the engine...
2. the car revs high then low for about 10seconds then gives a single beep.
3. Then i turn the wheel and a second or so later it bleeps (not a single beep from whet i can hear mode like the ecu code? but that is meant to be the first beep is it not?).
4. after the bleep i then "goose" the throttle.
then after i do it gives 528.

Am i doing the wheel thing to soon... ie it beeps (i do nothing) then i wait for the ecu code then do the wheel? it beeps again and i do the throttle? which sitting hear writing this email sounds like it.

ie engine on... beep (wait), bleep, wheel, beep, throttle... meh i will give it a go.

I haven't done that one for a while (plaguarised the workshop manual almost word for word) but don't recall any issues.
I'll give it a try tomorrow and let you know.

As soon as it beeps after u turn the steering wheel half turn u should goose the accelerator....don't wait too long or else it will start to read out the codes...and as u said it would tell u the code that u haven't goosed it.

Just used it on Gaz's car and my two. Gaz's car and my XR8 is all good.
On my XR6 I have a knock sensor failure. I reckon that cant be good.
At least I use ultimate 98 all the time.

What needs to be gone to change knock sensor?
Might start a new thread.

Guys, an update....

I was able to obtain a couple more connectors on Friday (the balance of them will arrive during this week).

Finished two more units..... have PM'ed Jasenfee and Jaymz

That uses up all the cases (I must buy in batches of 25) from the first bundle of cases.
BTW - case 25 was my unit, cases 24 and 23 were used for upgrades (rebuilds) of previous units.

The bits are coming together for the next batch, but two issues at the moment:-
1. Still do not have a delivery date on the cases (these are out of the US).
2. The LED clips are also out of stock and look to be about 3 weeks (these out of Hong Kong).

So, looks to be 3 weeks for the rest .....
The backorder list

swampy (offered #19)
TerroristGhia (offered #20)
jasenfee (offered #21)
jaymz (offered #22)
John_jay
twr7cx
AltasComp
hans_hartman
4nik8
mspw
djsteph
snoozer77
Blue XR6
Lindsay
ef xr8
Linzo
Bluecube

Still have one offered but unconfirmed out of the fist 20 and awaiting a response.

Finally got around to running a full diagnostic and found out how Ford like to do things the weird way.

The EEC and TCM tests were straight forward, then tested the ABS and it turns out the early EL test was the relevent one. Thought, cool I'll be able to test the SRS then. No, Ford blessed the car with the later SRS system, which requires the star tester!

So, they didn't change the ABS and SRS systems simultaneously.

P.S. No faults to fix either :)

gros20 - sorry mate you're hovering around #35 on the list (have to be fair to all the guys who put their hand up before you).
Will not be an issue anyway as the next batch will be punched out fairly quickly - once all the bits arrive.

Kit - there is a bit of a technique in assembling these as I've used such a small case. Would take me longer to make up a set of instructions than to actually build half a doz of the units.

7 seg display - I will eventually do a display version and I'll design that to be a kit. (I have several projects in the Q before I can get to that though).

Reset Codes how to - this is included in the Instruction Manual provided with the unit.
