Hi there - first post.

This "PCMScan" software - is it freeware available on the internet? Either way, where would I begin looking?

Thanks in advance....

No, there are free software availabel, but not as useful. The link I provided above has the tool, and links to software.

The unit I was going to do was to be based on the ELM chipset as well. ELM is a Canadian company which sells, amongst other things, a range of OBD2 interface chips. I have bought some of these and have a suitable interface circuit.... I was going to build one of these and have a play.

The challenging part may be accessing the OBD2 part in the AU (or BA/F) and getting access to the diags..
I was going to try the various free apps but I suspect Ford Aust would not have made it so easy to access..... In the US/Europe the comms to the vehicle is standard so all these apps would work, but not sure if Ford Aust have not gone to a proprietory scheme to protect their dealer network.

Any one tried the ELM based interfaces ??

The pricing of the device Scantool sells is OK-ish, would be hard to do it cheaper (other than as a self assembly kit).

All the standard (OBD2 required sensors etc.) are easy to get and all the software I've tried gets them first go.

However reading through the various Ford doco I have, there's a metric s**t (bigger than a imperial s**t) of detailed stuff that isn't as easy to get.

Guys, just an update....

All the bits are coming together. The longest delivery item (connectors) still appears to be on track at this stage.

Delivery on schedule for 3-5 weeks hence.... should be enough to fill all orders.

Guys, Still awaiting one item. The connectors arrived earlier than expected but the switches are delayed.
I am building them at present as the switch isn't needed until final assembly... so when the switches arrive it will not take long to finish these.

Still looks OK for about 2 week hence.

I did get some of the switches from my supplier so was able to assemble 3 units.
I did not hear back from Steve1964 or Borba so those units are on offer as well.

The list is as follows..... (if you are missing or wish to cancel please advise).

Guys I got mine afew weeks back it looks awesome and the manual is easy to read. Due to work commitments at the moment I have not had the time to play with it, and start saving a few $$$$ on mechanial cost's.
