Murray, Can't believe you're still going strong with these units... How many hundreds you reckon you've made now?
My V2 has been fantastic... Just recently changed out my entire car to AUII wiring and as such this unit now lives in a box in the shed for the family's other ED's but no longer suits my car... I have an Autel scanner for it now... Anyway... I was just reading about when you initially released the V2 that you considered fitting an LCD and maybe a stack so you didn't need to write codes down... Has there ever been any research to further developing the system? I'd buy a new one if it came with a multi line LCD so all the codes came up line by line (even if it didn't describe the code)... V3 could be awesome! Cheers, Tim

Tim, I did start playing around with an LCD version but did not get very far when I decided not to proceed.
Main issue was around cost. A LCD version would need buttons to enable up/down scrolling, a 4x20 LCD (for 2 codes/screen displayed) or a 4x40 LCD (for 4 codes/screen), memory, larger case, front label, etc. The case to house a 4x40 display would be around 100mm x 200mm x 25mm and so quite large. The V2 unit is, construction-wise, not a simple unit but a LCD version would add another layer of complexity dependent on how the pushbuttons were implemented. Estimated cost was hiking up and could not see a cost/benefit of the LCD version versus the pen and paper used with V2. Also, would I keep the V2 unit going ? If so, the high setup cost of a V3 unit becomes a gamble. But, if I cease making the v2 then how many people would be prepared to pay the higher cost of the V3 ? My brain cell was becoming strained so I stopped before I blew a gasket |

Yeah that sounds fine... LCD output is way beyond my level of understanding in electronics... I stop at transistor/CMOS level... So wasn't sure on the added complexity... No issues from me... Just re-read it and thought now that'd be awesome... Hence the question popped into mind...
Cheers, Tim

Cost delivered to 4560 please? I have always used a test light myself, but if its not expensive, Id be up for a plug in unit. I can sit back then and relax with the pen and paper. I havent tried the test light on my NL though. Havent had to read the codes on it ever.
These work on the last of the NL Concordes?
