I looked at the unit today because after replacing the pump on the el wagon with a brand new bosch kit off ebay the sender unit was not running. When I opened the tank, I found the fuel pump had dislodged itself from the sender unit. I did notice that the original pump was held onto the sender from rubber gromets on the rubber seat and from the pump filter itself, I did the same when I put the new one in but it did not holding very well obviously. I noticed on the bosch pump there is a threaded bolt hole that lines up with the sender plate but I did not get any bolts to go into it... and the hole in the pump itself looks like it has an old needle and seat type of needle in it. Was I supposed to have gotten a bolt in the kit to fasten the pump to the sender or is this hole supposed to be empty?

I'm pretty sure there's supposed to be a clamp or plastic tie around the body of the pump to hold it against the bracket - sounds like that was missing from your original pump.

If you'd bought it locally, you be able to go and ask the sales guys and possibly be given the missing parts.

Hope the price was worth the hassle

There was a rubber seat that is held into place by gromets that sits in the bracket and that gets cable tied to the body of the pump, but its very flimsy and it seems the weight distrabution of the bosch pump is different to the factory one as the Bosch has a disc on one side at the top and a straight output ( because its designed for sedan and wagon).
