yep, safety I guess; bdln knock becomes an override to cover for bad fuel/engine conditions/leads/plugs/...

When I tune, i set all of the bdln knock values to 50deg so it always chooses the MBT table. I recommend anyone else tuning an EEC do the same. I got this tip from the US guys.

Does anyone here have any problems with pinging between 2500-3800rpm? If I run anymore than 15deg timing advance under full load the car pings.

If I make the bbm switch at say 2000rpm it doesn't happen. As soon as the bbm switches to the short runners I can bump the timing up to 30deg without any problems.

There controls for where to open the BBM? in the EEC bins? i thought it was mechanical.

And i think i know what your talking about, its viewable in the ign maps mostly on the xr6 map, anyways look at the lpg tables... see a difference? its my guess its has something to do with the air flow as the runner open up on petrol, my guess would be it blows the injector spray upwards/ downwards and causes a lean spot.

Just a guess.

Thanks for posting those Ford Factory ignition maps.

Its quite interesting as to how different the stock and XR6 maps were.

Do you know what transmission those maps were for.i.e auto or manual

I am not used to the load points. I take it that 30 is WOT, 6 is vacum on deceleration.

What would idle and cruise be.

My maps are similar to the XR6. More advance down low for an automatic.

Thanks,
I should have made this clearer but I am referring to the factory maps posted by Galapogos.

The other interesting thing that Galapogos pointed out was the dip in timing around the 3000rpm mark.

This would have to relate to the BBM switchover point.

Galapogos, you wouldnt have any factory maps for the EA-ED to see what is done there.

All,

for some reason havent been getting forum notifications on my subscribed threads... anyway

for the download link, google is your friend: http://www.google.com.au/search?q=tunerpro

I have some EA-ED spark maps and they dont have the same dip - its definately BBM causing the lean spot.

We've probably sold around 100 units in total now. For some examples check out our owners gallery. There are many tunes around, but the best thing to do is customise a base tune for the application.
