grab a good car manual and also workout if you want the AU to be a stand alone or have the AU ecu controling everything. and maybe look up TimmyA and research what he did to he's ED

I have full AU looms in my ED... Make diagnosis and problem finding easy because it is entirely AU and works per factory... I have details photos in my thread showing the looms... Dash loom obviously took the most work... All plug changes more or less... All worked and went somewhere, but none of the AU plugs plugged into the ED switches... Column might be a pain in the bum for you... I have a hybrid column which is an ED bottom for the firewall with an EL top section, AU igntion barrel (for smartshield) and FG wheel and buttons...

Biggest thing I had to make changes for were power windows as the master is in the console where AU has them in the door... And door ajar as I couldn't use the snipper light buttons I had to modify door ajar sensors to trigger the interior light and then make up some relays to drive the door ajar in the cluster... The reasons for this are already detailed in my build thread...

Runs a mixed bag of heater hoses and AC has custom lines for the AU pump (better than the ED pump)

If you run AU PCM and control you gain sequential injection with electronic distributor-less ignition system... Plus the run hot strategy in the computer should you ever get in a jam... And I had full VCT control in the PCM too... And factory AU immobilisation (transponder keys)

Again check my build for hurdles I crossed... And pictures... And if you need help just ask...

Cheers,
Tim

The other thing with having full AU looms... More or less (except for the few changes I made for door ajar and the power windows) the entire AU manual's wiring schematics apply to the car should I ever have any problems occur...

If you go ahead with this you need to buy this...

http://www.fordfalconrepairmanuals.com. ... eries2.php

It is a pdf manual but it is the factory manual and is entirely the same as the Ford printed manual (i've had them side by side as dad works for Ford here)...

Cheers,
Tim
