What is the flow of an AU injector - apparently they are all the same through from STD to XR with the N/A 6cylinders - does any one know
Trolling around i have found this:- The EA thru EL ran 0280 150 790 --18.15lbs/hr 1988-1998 The AU ran 0280 155 844--14.3lbs/hr 1998-2002 In other areas i have searched it has been stated AU injectors are 20lbs also this:- Quote: ive got au injectors in my ef i6... they go straight in... and supposedly give a slight torque increase so ive been told because of the more even spray pattern with 4 pin holes instead of the ef injectors single hole.. and this:- Quote: when I was testing injectors for Jases engine the AU out flowed out sprayed & out performed the earlier types which tell me there not 19lb.
the AU 's atomize better which ends up producing more torque, from our dyno runs.....

the flow measured depends on what fuel pressure they are tested at..
also the au runs a 350kpa fuel reg where as the std ef/el runs 275kpa.. so the au injector would flow slightly more on the au reg than it would on the ef reg.. i did fit the au injectors on my old engine with the xr 300kpa reg and did notice a slight torque improvement. but the overall gains are questionable?? |

I am after more Torque - I will get more rwkw with the new CAI
I was told the Fuel Reg for an AU was:- Non XR6 at idle is 225kpa XR6 is 250kpa With reg vac hose dissconnected its 275kpa non XR6 XR6 With reg vac hose dissconnected its 300kpa I already have the EL XR6 fuel reg 300kpa I like the idea of the 4 pin holes on the AU instead the 1 pin hole on the EF Ford AU XR6 Holden VT VU VX VY Fuel Pressure Regulator 0280 160 592 If the the AU XR6 Fuel Reg is part number 0280 160 592 Seat Pressure Bar is 3.5 which i can only assume is 350kpa

FYI Hmm smaller injector flow for an AU
Au Injectors Part Number 0-280-155-844 Lbs/hr 14.3 Cc/min 150.3 Grams/min 108.1 Feed EV6 EF-EL Injectors Part Number 0-280-150-736 Lbs/hr 18.25 Cc min 191.8 Grams/min 138 Feed EV1 EF-EL Injectors Part Number 0-280-150-790 Lbs/hr 18.17 Cc min 191 Grams/min 137.4 Feed EV1

on my series 3 AU XR6 engine the Fuel Reg is stamped 3.5 bar,350kpa
if the au injectors actually flow less? the better responce/torque that some of us are getting may actually be that the engine is actually running a better afr with the au injectors..?? i have also seen conflicting information about the au injectors, one source says they are 20lbs and the other says they are 14lbs. the info i have says that the Part Number 0-280-150-736 is actually ea to ed.. |

Straight from Bosch catalogue...
0 280 155 844 - 150.2 g/min @ 3bar 0 280 150 790 - 149.7 g/min @ 3bar they measure flow rate using n heptane which has a different SG to petrol as well... pretty obvious where the confusion comes from, people mixing bosch flow rates with aftermarket rates, or calling the bosch g/min rates cc/min...

also because im bored at work i just did math on those figures based on petrol SG of .739 and heptane SG of .684, and both injectors are around 21.4lb/h @ 3 bar.
obviously the 19lb/h vs 21lb/h theory is pretty spot on when you consider differing fuel pressures, although in AU XR6 guise they are flowing a bit more @ 3.5bar bosch catalogue link http://www.bosch.com.au/content/languag ... ectors.pdf

EV6 is just the body type, tells you next to nothing about what spray angle it has.
You can safely assume that if it's used OEM in a car with similar to identical ports, it will be fine.

Interesting stuff here.
My EF has AU injectors/rail and reg with EF pump. AFR's were fine when it ran at our last dyno day.

Seems like a good thread to bring up instead of starting another...
At the moment fuel system is all stock. Would there be minimal gains if any including fuel efficiency, power or torque from using an AU fuel rail, injectors, AU 2.7 bar regulator on an ED log manifold? Will the ED loom still work? Regards.

Regards. the au rail and reg wont fit on the log manifold.. if your using the log manifold try find a 3 bar/300kpa eb/ed xr6 fuel reg and use the au injectors in the log rail? they are a direct fit.... |
