avgas has a s**t of lead in it to bump up the octane rating

DO NOT PUT AVGAS IN AN UNLEADED VEHICLE

use 98 octane rated fuel and u will be fine in an i6 as they have a knock sensor ... well my au does :P

and unless u have stoopid high comp or boost etc you wont get much if any benifit from the avgas, there are way better fuels you can use
liek alcohol :D

Do'nt use AVGAS in anything running a CAT as it will destroy the cat and sensors and is of no benifit unlless you are running very high compression, a HUGE CAM 8-) and aftermarket ecu or a turbo or supercharger :D AND IT IS ILLEGAL IN VEHICLES DRIVEN ON THE ROAD

A shandy mix is alright.... To bump up the octane a little
Don't run just straight avgas though...

Need to be a very light "girls shandy" or will still damage cats and sensors after a little while (take it from someone who has tried this in the quest of more power    )

Haha, yeah only a very light shandy, like 1-2l for a full tank of 98 octane fuel.
I havent done it yet, but its on the cards...

when i travel i fill up with ultimate and then i fill up again 700ks down the road, thats sitting on 120 with the aircon going. i usually get 450ks out of the first half, but when i went to port lincoln i had to fill up with unleaded as they dont have a bp there, i only got 360ks out of the first half, around town yeah i reckon it aint worth it but i still run it.

Most AVGAS is 100-110LL. The LL stands for Low Lead. It is not the same content as Leaded fuel from years ago, but there is still a Lead content. Adding 1-2L to a tank is not going to do much for raising the octane, but will cause a catastrophic increase in Cat temps. If you filled with 98Ron then added 1-2L of 110Ron AVGAS, it still would not equal 100Ron fuel. Most airports will not let you fill up either, unless it is into a seperate container and you normally need to show your pilots licence (at least that was the case at Coolangatta Airport).

cheers
Scott

What is the comp ratio??? if 98 RON fuel doesn't help????
Might need a bigger cam to knock it down a bit.
