For a while now I've understood that flash tuning an ECU on a new car under warranty will obviously void the warranty and consequently Ford won't touch your car after that. Now I know bugger all about the software abilities of B-series and F-series ECU's but would pulling out the original ECU and replacing it with another ECU that we may then be able to flash tune, be the way to go? Then when you have a problem that requires warranty support from Ford, could you then replace the modified ECU with the original unaltered ECU and then take it back to Ford? Can they detect that the original ECU has been removed at some stage?

From AU you've had to do a parameter reset when changing the ECU, Unless you have a scan tool capable of doing it, it's not going to be that simple.

I dunno about that. I am pretty sure a mate of mine had some warranty work dont on his BFII turbo post flash.

When I bourght my car from Ford they tried to sell me a flash tuner with it.

Kinda with I had have taken them uip on the offer cos I never got round to buying one and now I have a kid I have F**k all chance of getting one

also to get the ecu out u need to put a slit in the bolts that hold it there which im sure they'd notice
