My data says B2680 is the permanent DTC that is registered when an ODO is changed outside of the alloweable values.
I think I got that out of the BA Workshop Manual for those of you that follow these things. Lukeyson |

Hmm.
Anyone seen this before? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/UNLOCK-your-dash ... dZViewItem Anyone willing to snaffle it and see if it does anything for us? Lukeyson |

Sounds like instructions on how to get into the diag mode (since it's only 'a book not cheap pdfs') of the dash.
I think what you're doing is much more interesting.

After doing some tests yesterday, I have been able to reset the odometer and set it again with a new value. I changed the odometer 3 times to try and trigger the DTC with now luck. So maybe the DTC is created by another module reading the counter.

(Actually, i ended up buying a couple of 8-pin SOIC test clips from here: http://www.trianglemicro.com/products.htm - the only place where i could buy a couple without a $100 minimum order and $50 shipping fees...!) Just a bit of an update.
Seems I was wrong about the cluster. It can ONLY be changed via OBD if the ODO is under 100km. Anything beyond that doesn't work. We thought it was because the cluster in question was over 200,000km, but that's not it. So the only way to change the ODO is by doing it direct to the Serial eeprom that stores these values. And it also appears possible to reset the 'counter' that limits the number of times the cluster can be changed. auMatt has been making good progress with his IC lab, but I'm yet to receive my goodies to start playing. We've also just recently discovered more broadcast messages that turn on and off some of the jewels in the cluster - some of them from the PCM, and some from the BEM. We haven't found them all yet, but finding some of them means we know roughly where to look for the others. Lukeyson |

Good to see you're having fun and making progress. Watching keenly (still).
BTW: Thought initially the police mode would be useless wank, and I'd turn it off again quickly. But no still going strong, use it to set my cruise control - as it's as accurate as my GPS, and is always on.

Do you know how to enable the shift alert (and change the rpm it activates at?)

Well, I can't find anything about it in a quick search of the workshop manuals.
If you can find (and scan in) any references to shift alerts then we'll certainly go on a mission to find it. Lukeyson |

Its the first time I have heard of it. Will need to ask some of our club members who have manual fpvs.
