Hey ALL...great forum, and amazing guys here doing amazing things, well done.....SO

I have a 2002 au series III ( forte)
I also have a ELM 327 USB 1.4 OBD2

Iv tried to get my scan tool connecting with my car but no luck.
i have a "few" free programs and a couple i brought..
ATM Im using OBDwiz & ScanTool.net for Windows v1.13

I thought sending..
atsp1
ATSH E4 10 F1
13
in OBDwiz as it connects would be the go after MUCH reading...but nope...DAM IT
it seems to fail at detect OBD protocol maybe.

i have sent these commands from an external program "scantools...STN Term 1.1.0.4....
and i get back....
------------
atsp1
atsp1
OK

>ATSH E4 10 F1
ATSH E4 10 F1
OK

>13
13
53 03 40 00 00 00 00

>
-------------
so its "seeing it (ecu), and getting basic codes etc.

I have my Bluetooth Vgate Scan tools & TORQUE for android ( http://www.appbrain.com/app/torque-pro-(obd2-car)/org.prowl.torque ) all waiting in the wings for putting onto my 7" tablet in-car......

FOR NOW.. i just be happy to get things happening with my usb ELM 327 USB 1.4 OBD2
and a couple of the pc-based programs i have got/brought.

Here is a quote from another thread on how to use an Elm with an AU.

Had a bit more of a play, to get codes for an AU with an elm, fire up hyperteminal and enter the following where the prompt is >

// Set the protocol for J1850 PWM
>atsp1
OK

// Set the header for Physical address 10 and Type 1 IFR
>ATSH E4 10 F1
OK

// Request diagnostic codes, this is the same as j1979 functional addressed mode 03 except directed at the ecu
>13
53 01 08 01 13 01 18
53 01 22 02 01 02 02
53 02 03 02 04 02 05
53 02 06 04 43 04 80
53 04 81 05 33 07 08
53 07 13 07 43 07 53
53 07 58 07 63 07 68
53 07 78 11 82 13 49
53 14 34 14 37 14 65
53 15 20 00 00 00 00

This ECU was on the bench so lots of codes, from the response I get codes

108, 113, 118, 122, 201, 202 and so on...

// Next send mode 14 to Clear the codes
>14
54

Thats all I have for now.

Now that Ford has switched to the ISO 14229 format, has anyone found an equivalent to the mode 21 read and mode 3B write? ISO 14229 still has mode 22 and mode 23 DIDs (instead of PIDs) with attendant writes, but has anyone done this to change the settings on ACMs, APIMs and the like? Before with SAE J2190 I could step through the 2100, 2101, etc and match the as-built data to figure out what to do, but I can't seem to figure out anything similar for the 14229 stuff.

There is software called FORScan that works on the AUII with any ELM327.

Live data, Clear Codes

Thanks for that rmack works with my elm327 and auII. apart from the ocilliscope, might of had some transfer rate issue or something as it caused some not so cool s**t to happen after running for 5 or so seconds. Everything else worked awesome though, best software I have so far.

If it can do all that then looks like it should be interesting how it goes on a Egas....

Sorry for the thread mine here guys, but got a question that I can't seem to find a answer to...

Does anyone happen to know what the code is that ford used for the gear indicator on the BA/BF cluster on the CAN bus?

Building a C**k to use on the PC out of a BA/F interior (seat, dash, console, cluster, etc, etc) and have most the stuff, and code sorted out (with help from a good mate) but can't find the code for the gear indicator, which I wanna use for gear indicator in games.
