Yeah its mad, was thinking of getting cams next but the guys at blue power pointed me more towards diff ratios, What did you think of the under drive kit? worth getting?

Yeah dw about cams at the moment, they are expensive and not huge gains, yeah diff ratio is the way to go, under drive is an easy mod and cheap, I think it made a difference initially and they say good for 8rwkw

Yeah the main thing i wasnt sure about the underdrive was if it would affect the A/C and stuff but urs doesent seem to bad from ur build thread so its got me thinking about getting it done, il probably look into it next service i reckon. gotta hold back a bit for the moment, insurance and a speeding fine at the same time slows things down a bit... lol. but il let you know how it goes once i get it done,
Thanks for the reply mate, il keep an eye on your thread

155 odd rwkw ain't bad, but I'd get your tune redone man. You've got a massive drop in power in the middle of your rev range. If you want more power, get cams, injectors and underdrives, then retune. If you want quick takeoff, and also a lot more torque, get 3.7 or 3.9 diff gears (with a LSD of course, or you'll just wheel spin all day...) Either way, you will need a retune as diff gears will throw speedo out, and also gear changes in the auto.

If you get cams and underdrives etc, you'll pickup another 30rwkw easily, if tuned correctly. You don't want epic high numbers, but a tune that is very driveable and has a very nice smooth torque and kw curve (not how yours has a drop in the mid).

Good luck, and enjoy modding :)

Yeah aircon and power steering etc are all fine (well they were initially and have been for some time) My aircon is f**k around at times, not starting at all, very weak, seems it was after a really long drive, stopping and starting again it just wouldn't start. Seems all good again now, i think its just all the things of a car getting old

Hey mate, Yeah i think il wait before getting cams done, need to look into it a bit more i think, but i reckon il go for the underdrive and injectors, probably diff aswell if i can afford it all at once, my injectors need a clean anyway so i might aswell upgrade em instead. the power drop isnt actually all that noticable, he explained the reason for it to me and said u dont really feel it, (cant remember what the reason was, to many words i didnt know) was a bit put off cams when i was told it has to be warmed up bofore you can drive and can make it harder to start on hot days, but that probably depends on brands and stuff aswell, dont really know to much about them, do you have cams in yours/how have you found them?

there r a few things that could do that to the a/c, Might be a broblem with the clutch that engages the compressor, after a drive feel the area close to the pulley attached to the comp to make sure its not hot from grinding, i would think its the same system as others ive seen(there will probably be a bit of heat from the compressor anyway but shouldnt be real hot), If it works some times and sometimes not i wouldnt think it would be a gas problem, maybe a relay isnt pulling in to operate the clutch properly or something. I dont know a whole lot about car a/c, usually stick more to industrial refrig.

Yeah i dont think its a gas problem coz when it does work its plenty cold enough. It must be to do with the fan as its either really weak or doesnt work at all.

My fan did that once, had a bit of a squeek and eventually siezed up so i pulled it out, opened up the motor and wd40'd it, hasnt played up since, otherwise you can pick up a 2nd hand motor for around $30, not sure what they're worth new (probably a fair bit), my heater is dead at the moment with a broken mixer shaft, just to help you appreciate winter mornings in melb,
i cant remember exactly what it took to pull out the fan but it wasnt to hard, if you unclip the top of the glove box and pull out the air filter behind it and u can feel what the fan is doing below the filter housing (mine would go real slow and then stop, just dont have the fan on high when u check it...)
