Nah probably not, but because it's up high, it's got more 'leverage'
Not a huge amount, mind you, but enough to probably upset the front end of the E-Series a bit.

Can some say "hello" to an aftermarket bonnet with a bulge for the EL's to allow the extra height of the BA motor. It will be better than cutting a hole the bonnet like JetXR...
Hmmm, but more importantly a APS phase 3 BA turbo in an EL might be fun. Mwahahahaha!!! |

I'd be happy with an N/A motor, running an edit.
But yeah O-Kaaaay, if I HAVE to have the Phase 3 turbo motor...

Keep in mind, the old windsor was about 50+kg heavier then the I6. The windsor had cast iron heads opposed the six's alloy head. Much more heavy up top...

Raise the mounting point and you'll achieve the physical properties your describing. Increasing the height of the deck and allowing for the proportional increase of its mas, any additional moments of torque are being taken up and absorbed by the engine mount rubbers proper. In real terms any felt affect would be marginal. The required bulge when substituted in a fibre bonnet replacement would surely offset any weight increase. Now of course if I'm wrong I'll cheerfully admit it....not bloody likely!

You dont have to admit your wrong MSPW.
I would never force that admission from you using a very effective form of chinese water torture. 'Leverage' was kinda the wrong term. The heavier DOHC head is raising the center of gravity in the engine bay. It'll roll the whole front end around more basically. If I'm wrong, which is entirely possible, I'll gladly refuse to acknowledge it, and proceed to open up a new user account simply to avoid doing so. edit: Yeah agreed, the effectswould be minor, but it probably would effect front end response a bit. You're right about the bonnet, that would entirely offset the effect.

Hey who cares what it will take to put a BA motor into an e series car!! Just think how cool it would be !! and im sure if you just put V8 suspension and stuff into it - it would do they job!! Or wouldnt it!! i dont really know just thought it would work better with a heavier motor!
