we are now able to supply a tuner/unlocker to take the security out of the BA computers. this allows you to install the BA motor & tiptronic auto or manual into any car and you dont need to use the wiring , ignition and all the ba module to get it running. the tuner is allready done we are just working on a simple loom now to finish this project.
prices for the tuner will be $995 at the moment it looks like we will supply a wiring diagram for the wiring mods. |

How hard of a job is it to do? it would probably work out more beneficial then the setup i was planning on running, not much more expensive eaither.

so you still need the BA ECU just most of the wiring will not have to be hooked up, is that right, cause the BA ECU controlls the trip-tronic functionality, unless you put in the module that I have installed in my EA.

The more i think about it the more it makes sense to get a BA turbo i6 into my car. One main area people can run into problems in come engineering time is emmisions and the "no aftermarket ecu rule". I can think of at least one way to get around this now . If you were to install all the running gear straight out of an XR6t into an e-series, i suppose you wouldn't even need to go through emmissions would ya?? Once the engineers is complete, Hellloooo flash tuner

e series is also a fair bit lighter as well!

How heavy is the XR6T donk,in comparison with an e series I6? It may alter the balance of the car (drastically???).

probably not much more heavy then any other E series I6 with a turbo bolted to it

i'm pretty sure the DOHC long motor is very close weight wise to a SOHC long motor.

Probably a fair bit more weight Data_mine, and unfortunately it would all be up high. Solution would be a custom made fatter swaybar, and perhaps V8 spec front springs. edit: you think so EFFalcon? I'm not speaking from experience, I haven't had either engine out and weighed them, I'm just saying theoretically

the BA engine hasnt got the auxilery shaft for driving the dizzy and oil pump, which reduced the size of the block from what i recall.

Problem is though, it's got a phsyically larger head.
So more weight up high.
