G'day gang,

As a part of my turbo conversion i'm changing the stock N/A MAP sensor to a 2bar XR6T MAP sensor. With this, the engine loom plug must be changed also. I have purchased this plug from CAPA, but am unsure as to what wires need to go where. I'm more than capable of using a soldering iron and am very electronically minded, just not sure how this sensor and plug are to be installed.

If anyone can help in any way, i'd be greatly appreciative.

i would assume the wire colour codes would be the same from the na map sensor to turbo map sensor..
just the map sensor itself would be different.??

but you never know with ford anything is possable..

Bentles on boostedfalcon has done it and has a wiring diagram somewhere. Shoot him a PM.

This is his thread.

Aparantly, or so i have been told, the wires to the sensor are mirrored, so basically the plug stays in the same position, just that the wires are flipped around. Though i'm not 100% sure.

Thanks Dan, it fire off a PM.

Yep, that's the story. The MAP sensor wires are reversed (mirrored):

Pin1 ---> Pin4
Pin2 ---> Pin3
Pin3 ---> Pin2
Pin4 ---> Pin1

What is the part number of the 2Bar Tmap? The one I have and assumed it as 2Bar is 0 261 230 027 (bosch Part number)

The one I had was from a BA NA not a turbo so it is probably the 1 bar version and your one is correct. When you asked for it did they ask you to take a seat while they told you the price?

lol no I was already sitting down when I rang up to see if they had one in stock.

Capa want $55 for the plug for it too! Surely there is another option?

Any ideas? Can the old plug be used if you change the wiring around?

hi guys, doing the same setup to my ba n/a xr6.. i got my self a xr6 turbo map sensor from ford for $160.. i know the n/a plgs are different to the turbo ones, but want to know how i could get one of those plugs from cappa?? for $55??..
or could i make one??
an jus another question, could i make the car run buy fitting this xr6 turbo map sensor?, or do i need a xr6 turbo ecu, or anything else make the car run with boost, before i get it cappa flashed tuned??
What my plains were, was to fit up my turbo set up, cooler an map sensor an a rise an rate fuel pressure reg an drive it till i could get the standard n/a xr6 ecu flash tuned..
thanks for any heap guys..

Just give CAPA a call on (08) 85 823499 and talk to one of the guys there and ask them for an XR6T map sensor plug, pay by credit card and they'll chuck it in the post for you. Just remember you have to cut the NA MAP sensor plug off your existing engine loom and reverse the wires, this requires soldering and a bit of heatshrink to make it look neat.

You shouldn't need an XR6T ECM, people have done it with the standard ECM with a modified XR6T map and a stand alone boost controller, this is another thing that CAPA can help you with. But it is alot easier to find a XR6T ECM and the small loom which runs across the front of the car to behind the drivers side headlamp for the boost sensor and wastegate actuator solenoid. XR6T ECM's have an extra plug on them for this compared to the NA ECM's.

As for the fuel pressure regulator, just stick with a stock XR6T item and that'll see you into some high horsepower. If you're looking to pump out anything more than 280rwhp you WILL need a new higher capacity fuel pump and injectors.

Hope that helps.

:D Thanks fordman351!!
Yea ya right i know of a few guys that have turbo's some ba xt an jus got there standard ecm flashed an what not..
I guess what i meant was i jus wanted to fit up the capa plug an yea change the wires around, an add a rise an rate reg so i could drive the car at least, an to the place to get my n/a xr6 ecm flash tuned (which is 3 an half hrs away)..
Jus fitted up my Kooler tonight, a monza sport 550x500x80 :D
Had a bit off trouble but nothing abit of a cut here an a bend there didn fix!..
Oh jus in case any1 didn know i doing a turbo build up on my 03 ba xr6 n/a..
I got a snort kit which has, tuned length s/s turbo manifold, T04e, 3inch dump pipe, an yes external waste gate :D , screamer pipe, oil lines..
I dont really know of any one doing a build like this with a external gate, especally on a ba??.. its been a bit of dramer, but is getting there slowly, pretty much jus gotta finish of the exhaust an fit this capa xr6t map sensor plug an happy days! 8-)

Can someone please look up the wiring colours for the TPS and the MAP sensor wiring for an N/A BA six cylinder Falcon? I'd be most gateful.

I just keep getting this feeling that MAYBE i've chopped the wrong wires :oops: , i'm pretty darn sure i havn't, but seeing as the wire length and plug for the two sensors are the same, i have to rule out everything, it's just really unusual after all this the car doesn't run properly. This is the last thing i'll check before i totally give up and send the car to someone to fix haha.

Bit of a bump. I am doing the same thing here with my BA wagon and I have to swap the plugs can anyone confirm that hooking wiring up mirrored is correct? Thanks
