Sorry, if the search function worked...

Can anyone tell me the base timing on an EL? I've had an EL ecu in my EA for a while now and have never once done the timing.

Thanks!

hi
the el ecu runs at 0 deg +or-2( or tdc)..
but if your running an ea or eb engine you can advance the timing a few more deg as the early engines have a lower compression ratio and can take a few more deg advance.(maybe 6deg btdc)

setting the base timing on an el ecu is slightlydifferent to the ea..
you need to earth the diagnostic wire start the engine and you wait 2 full mins.
when you hear the revs drop and the engine note change thats when you check and adjust it..
