hey guys just trying to get some info on a conversion i am doing. im putting a bf typhoon engine into a ba xr6 ute non turbo can anyone tell me whether i can use the bf ecu? my car is auto and so is the conversion but the bf is a 6 speed auto and im trying to use by ba auto i know i haveto get ford to re calibreate it all once done but does the bf ecu run the auto or is there a seperate ecu like the old e series any help would make my day cheers

Plugs and pinouts on a BF are different to a BA. I believe it would be a mother of a job to do and get right. So not something you'd want to do half assed.

The 6 speed requires additional wiring, has its own ECU internally in the trans, and talks to the engine ECU via the CAN bus.

I think you'd near on need to do a complete wiring transplant to make that BF engine and 6 speed work like it should.
