hey everone
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how much a cam angle sensor for an ef should cost and how many hours it should take a mechanic to put it in cheers

about 150 to 180 and about 30 mins to install you can do it your self

A rivet a spanner and TDC!
Rotate the device till you can see a spot on the side to put in a nail/rivet/drill bit or whatever. make sure the engines on TDC (compression stroke). Press and rotate in. Tighten. Remove nail. Install connector. Bobs ya sis.

Check online, they are about $130. Install is the same as installing a dizzy. Now that may or may not help you, LOL.

ohh yeh, if your installing it urself... don't force it down
As its on a worm drive and also theres a shaft for the oil pump which a hex shape.. A few goes and it'll slot in.

It's located on the inlet side of the engine near the front. (where the distributor would sit)
When I ordered a replacement they only sent the actual top "cap" which has the sensor mounted in it. This can easily be removed with the body of the unit still in - two 7mm bolts I think. It is easier if you remove the snorkel for the air box. This worked for me BTW. If you want to remove the whole thing shaft and all then you need to unbolt and remove the bracket that holds it in which is 1 bolt only. Then follow what Krytox said.

Where are you sourcing this from? I tried Ford and Bosch, and they both said they don't sell/make them anymore.
