Hi team, I just completed the conversion from auto to manual in my BA, the only thing holding me back is the fact that the immobiliser wont disengauge. Central locking is perfectly operational, the key doesn't turn the immobiliser off when inserted, nor when cranking the car.
I already have my car on the car trailer ready to take to ford in the morning, but if there's a way you can reflash the key using a button combination in the car, I would much rather take that avenue. I was thinking along the lines of the process involved in adding a new central locking unit, and thought maybe reprogramming the key was a similar routine. Any insight on the matter will be much appreciated! Happy Motoring! MaTTe |

i'm guessing u have put a manual computor into u'r ba as part of the manual conversion. the problem is the passive anti theft. the pcm needs to be calibrated to the car. ford should be able to do this for you, its not a matter of u'r key, just that there is another (should be) pcm in u'r car. correct me if i'm wrong

No need for correction, you've hit the nail on the head, I was just hoping there was a more simple solution. I'll bite the bullet and take it to ford in the morning, $100 an hour for them to 'see what meets up' seems excessive though. Everything is functioning except for immobilisation. I guess, at the end of the day, $100/h is a small price toi pay for the joys of driving the car! Point and shoot just isn't my driving style.
I did however find a way to reprogram the key, but you need two keys that are recognised, I have one, and its not recognised.. a trip to ford it is. Cheers mate Happy motoring! MaTTe |

it takes abotu 20 minutes. if u have done the conversion correct then tell them to do a pcm parrameter reset. thats all that needs to be done, so stick to your guns and tell them u know how long it takes. hope it all goes well.
