Main problem would be the smartshield in the AUs, I dunno whether they can de-activate it with the AU edit.
And to the best of my knowledge theres no bypass like the EB-ED smartlock.

Have you looked at twEECer?
Or even the CAPA E-Series eliminator switch.

If you used the au ignition barrel and the keys from the au, and wired it all in there is no reason it shouldnt work.
Why not chuck the dash in too? I have seen BA dashes in eb's so why not do something different ;)

Smartsheild is only on AUII and AUIII - not AUI.

So if you had an ECU from an AUI, that would be an option.

Time and money would be far better spent on a proper aftermarket ECU. Same to be said for the AC Delco kit.. it should be left running genuine GMH engines :) Not having a go at you, I understand the engine builder was a bit of a GM guru! :)

i agree 100%

you should consider all ecu's but its hard to beat a good aftermarket stand alone system

things like:
you mentioned
autronic
motec
haltech

or better again (better value)
xtc ems
ems 8860
ems stinger
microtech

Good point, but are the above ecu's ADR compliant in regards to emissions etc?

Only the Motec is ADR approved, its hard 4 me 2 get my head aorund what ECU i should use and its becoming fustrating as i just want 2 get it done once and done properly and not have a massive hole in my pocket.

I spose at least with an adr compliant ecu, you will at least be safe from getting defected or whatnot. or canaried as you southerners say

no ecu with any change from factory is adr compliant eg:

you chip it
you flash it
you fit it to same engine in another car earlier, later, smaller, larger
etc it does not comply

all scenario's technically require epa testing!!!

epa requires that an ecu can be tuned to comply with adr and epa regs

to do so it require closed loop fuel and enough aux.'s to control the polution gear

the main ecu's ive had comply have been ems's butthe following list can be mader to comply by correct set up and tuning

xtc ems
ems stinger
ems 8860
most motec
most autronic
wolf 3d v4/v5

amongst others

some like the xtc ems have full adaptive learning that wiil allow for euro 3 compliance eg bf falcon engine

Yeh every rego renewal we have to. Im going to look into it all and see where its worth while get the AU1 ecu in my car. I need ot find out how the AU computer is sequential and if it knows how to run economically like the DELCO. Delco takes sample and knows by the speed sensor if ur cruzing at a continues speed that it changes the tune automatically and makes it run economically.

I wonder if the ford computer does that?
