what is the best performance carb or injection?
I have a 92 Eb fairmont s/w 5litre and im deciding whether to keep it in the Eb or if i should put it into my motor-less xf. My Eb is deredg and my xf is on hold. Either way im looking at the $400-500 to get reredg or cert so its a hard choice. I'd love to get my xf on the road again and i don't know how much work is in transplanting the 5litre into the xf so any advice/experience would be much appreciated. |

personally id put a carbied 302 or 351 in the xf.
Too much wiring and stuffin around for the injected. And performance depends on how much money you wanna pour into the motor either way. Im sure somone has done it and will advise better tho..

Yeah that's what i was thinking with all the plumbing and wiring i would be biting off more than i can deal with.
I will just have to be a bit greedy and put a v8 into the xf as well hahaha does any one know of plug in type performance mods that i can do to beef up the 5litre? chips etc? what exhaust system would sound good without causing problems with the injection system?? it's WAY to quiet for me with the stock system. |

Depends on your XF... if you have 2 position rear Transmission mounts on the body its easy - if you dont - then your up for some work if you stay with the 4 speed auto. Im in the process now.
Extractors dont fit, Trans doesnt fit (unless you transplant the complete rear body trans mounts from the EB), but a lot of other stuff fits not too badly. xfalcon.com has a number of people who have done it, and my build thread where its underway Nigel |
