Today i cleaned my k&n pod with cleaning solution,then i rinsed with water and let dry in the sun 4hrs or so,i then reoiled with K&n oil and reinstalled,I also cleaned my hot wires with an eye dropper and metho,problem is it choofing smoke and running rough as guts now,what have i done wrong as this how i've always cleaned them with no probs

I'm positive it only plugs in one way,i've taken the pod of and replace it with a panel filter and cleaned the hot wires again [incase i put to much oil on the pod and it oiled up the wires] but it runs abit better but its got a bad misfire.
