Hi guys,
I am currently building a race car out of an AU XR6. I want to delete the air con as I will be putting a sports steering wheel in. I might as well get rid of all the other dead weight in the engine bay. Here is my question, if I disconnect the cruise control cable from the throttle body and follow it back, it goes to the cruise control module located in the far corner of the engine bay next to the brake booster. I was planning on removing that also, if I do will there be any problems with the ECU? As in will it send up any fault codes etc? Also I am removing the air con, will I have any ECU issues by doing this? Many thanks. |

OK - I saw you asked this in the build thread as well.
You wont get any codes from Removing the Cruise Module : The ECU will know that cruise is no longer installed, but there will be no error. Removing the AC is much the same. You will get sensor fails (AC Pressure and AC Temp) and this will disable the AC. That wont matter - you dont have it. Those codes wont put the car into limp mode. Nigel |
