Does the gas ecu (sprint-gas) get an input from the O2 sensor?
im thinking this is the case: the o2 sensor (original narrowband) output goes into the gas ecu and its then output from that into the EL ecu as the HEGO input on the car ecu has been cut and a different wire is running to it. can anyone confirm? i suppose i should be inputting the NBsim to both ecu's? |

The Petrol ECU shouldn't see an O2 signal on LPG (and vice versa if you have a more intelligent LPG system) so it doesn't learn fuel mixtures when it can't control them. Run a wire out from NBsim out to wherever the factory O2 sensor was tapped into so that you leave this switching in place.

hi guys,
Somehow missed all the action in this thread . Updated the original setup post with other info that wasn't clear and the incorrect info of the "yellow" wire. Should really do another post with setups of winlog and the actual logger config setup for those who are new or interested in getting into it. Anyways, i have a question for you guys who have set this up now. I have been using the logger for ages but had never connected the vss. I have connected it up for the first time and em not getting anything useful from winlog. Im not sure what the vss pulse setting should be. Im sure its something simple. EDIT: It looks like these are the settings i need help with. What are you guys using. i know different diffs will cause this to change. But just to give me an idea. VSS Triggers Per Revolution VSS Divisor Cheers, Tim

You'll need to work out what value to use as the divider. I travelled at a constant road speed trying settings to work it out, but i'm sure you could do it mathematically if you knew the frequency value of the sensor at a certain speed. I also had to average it over 10-odd samples to get a smooth reading.

Jase,
In regards to the wb+ ouput and wb- input on the 2j9, where is the best place to connect these?

EDIT: Updated for clarity
WB+/- should only be connected if you have an aftermarket ECU or gauge with a 0-5V input. NBsim will go to the O2 input on the ECU for the stock ECU. Cheers, Jason

Cheers, Jason Yeah it was clear when i first read it but then i re-read the tech specs on the wb02 site and it confused me The existing 02 sensor loom should have the negative earthed and the positive connected to the nb output on the logger?

Can't remember what frame type I use but it worked fine with all functions. Whats the actual problem, besides a smaller number?
You don't need to touch the wb+/- unless you have a 5v gauge or ECU. You need to connect up the nbsim output to the stock o2 sensor input on the ecu, as explained elsewhere in this thread. Cheers, Jason

the device should be run at 2.0
im not getting a AFR ive uploaded 2 videos the first one is showing that the device works in 1.5 and when i try and run it in 2.0 if fails http://s870.photobucket.com/user/figgie ... 6.mp4.html the second video shows that i have added the wb wires and nbsim still dont get AFR http://s870.photobucket.com/user/figgie ... 9.mp4.html from left to right wb+ = h02 inpt wb- = ho2 earth earth = ho2 earth nbsim = return sig rpm = tachomete sig vss = speedometer sig user 1 = map input |

Why are you using TEWBLOG? It was superceded by WinLog years ago. All of the doco refers to WinLog. Try with this.
As I said above, the wbo2 output wires have nothing to do with AFR sensing. If the sensor is plugged in and the unit is powered you should be seeing AFR via the serial port, unless you have a problem with your serial cable or USB convertor. Suggest putting a post on the Techedge forum if you need help with that. Cheers, Jason
