well how did they come to the conclusion that they can get 900k from a tank?
if i sat around 80 to 90 with the 6 speed auto, it would sit around 1400 rpm or threabouts i guess i would get pretty close. |

just had a look at the latest wheels mag in the supermarket and it has a test between an FG/VE calais 3.6 and omaga 3.0....
the test was over several thousands of km through the country... results average: FG 10.5 L/100 VE 3.6 10.0 L/100 VE 3.0 9.9 L/100 so wow 5% beter economy.....and how much does it cost when your injectors f**k up?

I get like really good fuel usage with my AU, it all comes down to how you drive, speed, tyres and road... 900L isn't that amazing,
I have gone Dubbo to newcastle on a saturday Drive around newy, return next day (sunday) with same tank a fuel... 399 down and 399 back... sitting on 100 to 120... so yeah

yeah holden gets better fuel economy out of a 3l to fords 4l this dose not surprise me but what happens when it jets hilly and windy and you want to do a bit of spirited driving.

I know the above figures ad up.....,but hell that just seems to far on too little fuel. I can leave home (Coonabarabran) go to Leicheit Sydney turn around come back and be on the fuel light at around 650kms per tank, i must fill up at some point to finish the trip home. BUT i have a family of 4 (190kgs), esky, and a boot filled up with luggage. I did not think that was too bad.

Whats with Holden, in there ad they make out they invented direct injection, it came out years ago who cares, the 3.6 still has no torque could only imagine how bad the 3.0 will be to drive, will be good to see how fg XR6 goes against new DI SV6. Can only hope ford keep I6 and go DI
