G'day all I've been reading up and it seems for an ef xr6 engine conversion into ea to use an el ecu and just cut down your ea loom and extend onto the el loom but what about bbm I havnt seen how you add this into an ea loom?? Do you add pins in the ecu plug somewhere or?? If someone had some pictures of cutting up and connecting the looms together and any pictures of ea engine conversion would be great to really kind of stuck with the ecu and how to get it all running any help is appreciated.

Cheers.
Michael

Ha Ha idont know but he did it twice.
Just add the two wires and pins from the ecu to the BBM. You cannot adjust the loom, you must add them.

Your on the right track just the wrong tram.
You must use an el engine or change an ef to run a distributor.
Use eb2 engine loom and just lengthen 2 of the plugs.
Add 2 wires for BBM.
Add knock sensor if you can be bothered.
Use el (not ef) thermofans and control with davies craig switch.
Bypass smartlock.
If you have trip computer change one wire, not essential.

Job done. I think.

Cheers.

You must decide if your going ef or el, you cannot mix the two because the wiring to the engine and ecu are different and not compatible.
Decide if you want distributor (EL) or coil packs (EF) and go from there.

most likely going EF since i already have ef xr6 motor and mate chucked in an ecu and loom for it as well. just wasnt sure whether it was best to run the el ecu for it seeing as it runs distributor and so does ea. but think i might jsut swap everything over from ef to ea and see how i go.
