Weird as in never made with it.
most likely just has a 4litre head on it.
might be a full engine swap. unless the numbers match

Its an EA - ~28years old
how many owners has it gone through ? at least the cops and 1 other before your mate got to it. highly think that someone added it for some reason, doubt it had anything to do with the cops though.

What pin did it go to ?

1988

20 years

But i may be wrong cause of some teething issues with the EA1 they used XFs til they fixed all the dramas

In all seriousness it could have been something as simple as the interior light.

i originally thought it could have been a kill switch aswell.
but in saying that if he just removed it the car wouldnt run??

and the interior light has nothing to do with the ecu..
unless when he said computer he ment the body controle module?

also if it was anything to do with it being a cop car i dont think the switch would need to be hidden..

and as said before the ea didnt have a speed limiter.
so untill we know what pin on the ecu it was conected to?
i guess its a mystery..

also you got to remember that not all cop cars are used as hwy patrol or in high speed chases..
it could have just been a general duties car.?
