if you get a smartlock bypass yes it would run fine assuming its not tennis racket injection (centre point)

why would ya??? it wont give you any advantages unless you run the 4.0L head and cam.

hi
if the 3.9 is mpfi 4spd auto and the 4.0 is also mpfi 4 spd auto the ecu will be pretty much the same and there would be no performance difference ..
except the eb2 ecu will have the smartlock imobilizer..

Thats great to know! The reason I would like to do it is because im doing a 4sd auto conversion to an Ea from a Eb. Its easier to wire using a EB computer because the ecu controls the auto aswell, where as in an EA theres a separate electronic module inside which means might aswell change the full harness!

yes the ea/eb has triangle like plug in the engine bay next to your brake booster.
and the eb2 has a white rectangle plug inside the car just below the fuse panel.

even though the looms are slightly different you can use the ea loom for all 60 pin ecu,s ea,eb,ed/el)the only thing is that you will have to add extra wires to the loom for the extra features from other ecu,s to work correctly. eg(smartlock and if your fitting a ucu with the 4 spd auto controls or if you do a bbm manifold conversion using a el ecu).

otherwise you can use the looms from other models its just up to you which is easier to do?
