Notice a Ebayer selling new EL ECU's.
There is a South African export one and an EL police one.

The benefits u would gain from having a brand new ECU would be about the same as if you removed your battery over night and then re-installed it

No, new not being the point, but the SA has different maps to suit the less stringent polution laws hence better performance. The cops one has no speed limiter I believe and holds the gears longer.

I think there was a speed limiter, 215kmh, I think. I know that was it for the AU's.

i have the nb one and was led to beleive it is a police ecu it has firmer shifts and better tune . i installed it on a xh ute with motivotor extractors and wade cam it gave it a noticeable mid range increase and way firmer shift pattern . with the econ button off it will kick back to 2nd at 100 and wont change until rev limiter . but i only paid 50 for mine .
